Where did the giants come from?

There are several places where the Bible mentions giants, but the most recognized one is Goliath, whom David fought and defeated. Goliath also had a brother named Lahmi, who was a giant (1 Chronicles 20:5), and he was killed by Elhanan (2 Samuel 21:19).

But, the first place giants are mentioned is in Genesis 6:4-5, which is right before the flood of Noah's time. The flood wiped out (killed) all the giants at that time. However, long after Noahs flood there was a second influx of fallen angels (nephilim) of which Goliath and the other giants were born.

The giants were all a product of the fallen angels (Hebrew: nephilim) who left thier first estate, heaven, and came directly to earth, without being born of woman (see 'What does born again mean'), in order to have sexual relations with the daughters of Adam. This ungodly act created these freaks of nature, the giants, which were known for their great size, strength and wickedness (Jude 1:6). (For more details see our document titled 'Purpose of Noahs flood').

No doubt the Greek and Roman mythologies of gods were born from this period of time with the giants.
